I would love to say I  sit at my table with my computer in front of me and create. Yet my mind refuses to stay in one place for any stretch of time. What I do, though, is write in my head for hours every day. Some of it is lost to the universe. Other ideas stick with me or come back in dreams. Long ago, frustrated by not remembering the stories in my head, I made a conscious choice; I let go of those words and sentences that didn’t want to stay. I put them out in the universe for other writers to find and use if they didn’t come back to me. It worked, and I became a happier writer.

PETS

Here is a photo of the beginning of my day. My dear little Daisy cuddled on my shoulder, just awake. That was yesterday. This morning, it wasn’t so easy. I was half asleep, and she needed to go out immediately. We didn’t make it! But it got me very quickly!

WRITING PROJECT

To try and commit to a better, and more productive writing  attitude, I am taking up writer Elske Howeler’s challenge of a writing alphabet. https://elskehoweler.com/tag/creative-writing/

As she is finished, I am just starting out. I’m not sure I can blog every day, so I will try and commit to at least three a week. Here goes —

A is for Amore, a poem written years ago. It is still a work in process. I have added and taken away punctuation, changed words, and spent hours on the computer searching for ideas, all part of my writing exercise. I like the idea of playing with words.
