Today is a typical early spring day. I walked to the beach with a cold, blustery wind blowing down my neck, a warm stroll along the beach picking up stones, and by the time I reached my house, it had started to rain, followed by hail for five minutes. The sun is shining again now. The raindrops glisten like tiny diamonds on the new maple tree leaves. When the rain stopped, I went out into the garden and worked. Sudden spring showers never stay for long. I mostly tidied up the dropping leaves from the snowdrops. The flower stalk now has a seed pod at the end. Each one is full of tiny seeds ready to propagate. They fall into the crevasses between the rocks in my garden; I leave them. Later in the warmth of my office, I finish my book, Between the Shades of Grey, Ruta Sepetys first novel. Not the most joyous subject, but interesting historically, and I liked the writing style.
